Not defending the Watchtower, but i feel a tad sorry for the smart men making these business deals. Why? well if they wernt working for the watchtower they could be doing it for themselfs. I mean i would feel really stipid working for an organisation and making them millions and getting no financial reward.

Jehovah's Witnesses bought more real estate in the UK for £5 Million
by emeth inhttp://www.borehamwoodtimes.co.uk/news/11016729.former_home_of_cardif_pinnacle_bought_by_jehovah_s_witnesses/.
.
the former home of an insurance company will now be used to store bibles by a christian sect.. jehovah's witnesses have bought 1 elstree way in borehamwood, formerly known as pinnacle place, from cardif pinnacle for 4,928,000.. the building will be used by the international bible students association, a corporation of the jehovah's witnesses which distributes bibles and other religious literature.. the non-profit organisation currently operates out of properties throughout mill hill and borehamwood, with headquarters in the ridgeway in mill hill.. it employs 700 people in printing, storing and distributing religious literature throughout britain, europe and africa.. a spokesman for the jehovahs witnesses said the association had outgrown its existing premises and had bought the large building to consolidate its operations.. it will use the new acquisition to store magazines, pamphlets and bibles as well as making full use of the office space.. however it will continue to maintain its headquarters in mill hill, where the literature is printed.. the sale went through in december and the international bible students association is currently preparing the building so it can move in.. jehovahs witnesses are best known for their door-to-door evangelical work, offering bible literature and recruiting and converting people to their beliefs.. the spokesman for the movement said: we are all about bible education and we print biblical literature to distribute around the world.. the people of borehamwood will probably not notice anything different as we are making no changes to the actual building, which is why we did not need planning permission..

Kate wild, yes good point buying buildings for storage..now thats the sort of place you can get planning permission to build a supermarket on. Its crazy in England to see garages attached to houses in Watford being converted in to one bed appartments and sold for 180 thousand pound.

I wonder if the organisation sold the buildings in Edgware but retained the land. That would be a smart business move, the land could then be sold as independent lots for houses in a very affluent area.

An odd move from Edgware ( very affluent) to Borehamwood ( very council) my point being in ten years property prices in Borehamwood will increase at a lower percentage than Edgware..

Yea and i think Rutherford wanted to seperate his organisation from mainstream religion so the name jehovers Witnesses. And Jehovers witnesses do think themselfs better than other religions. And even Jesus built his church upon the uneducated deciples with the commandet follow me...nothing has changed but the name to hook people.

Banja hi, did you know Gary and Allen wanted Rusty Day as lead songer for the Rossington Collins band. He turned them and A.C down. I think he was the preferrd choice for the reunion band, but i am glad Jonny got the job. He was working as a truck driver . Rusty Day and his young son of nine were shot dead over a drug deal gone wrong,
Back to Mike i met him and GIlbey Clarke at the Orient pub in Linköping Sweden. Mike was playing to less than fifty people and Gilbey to no more than a hundred. Seemed a long way to come from the states to Sweden for such small gigs. Gilbey told me he never had a big pay check with his two years in Guns and Roses. Anyway both were very friendly and humble people. Mike sure dont like Gary though,,,

Fatfreak my kid is 9 and has never called me Dad, its always Mike.
As for the name Jehover, i think it scares outsiders who are unfamilliar with the name. Then with study a new recruit is shown the name Jehover in the bible....and it really helps with the indoctrination process. Once a study starts using the name Jehover they are on the hook....

G. I saved the money and got a job where i could get a mortgage.
H i was early twenties when i purchased my first house with a large deposit from cleaning windows.
I i exsperienced being my own boss and it gave me the courage to start my own Estate Agency.
j if i had been inclined there were some fantastic opportunities with female householders.
So i think window cleaning has great opportunities and wouldnt knock it.

I remember a disfellowshipped guy who came to the K.H, i spoke to him and the elders took me aside and made the telling comment " They were dealing with it"
A newly baptised kid disfellowhipped for smoking. He smoked before his conversion. I had the impression they simply didnt want him in the congregation.
